You think both sides are wrong, to a degree, - and both are right, to a degree!

You think that Slick Willy AND Tricky Dicky were good, but dishonorable presidents.

You believe that Ronnie Reagan was a great President - maybe the best in the 20th century.

That a woman should have the total right to choose - but not after the second trimester.

That people should be held responsible for their actions.

That a good whack on the ass is not child abuse; but a slap in the face is.

That tort is good, but limits are needed.

That we should carry war to an aggressors land and let peace and prosperity reign free in the USA.

Eek, I don't get it!
Why would a moderate vote for the most liberal pair to run for president in modern history, while Bush has proven to be a moderate with his policies?

The Prescription Bill; the Tax cuts across the board for all wage earners; the partial birth abortion ban; names a few pieces of moderate legislation coming out of the Bush White House.

Please elucidate on your rational so I can understand your choice.

Moderates don't invade countries simply because they don't like them...

An interesting approach though, I wonder how many will swallow it.

So much of your country is hung up on Religion, it was really only a matter of time before you had a religious war.

Eek, moderates do invade countries that have a history of aggression, a history of using WMD, and a known connection with terrorists; especially after the USA has been attacked in the most heinous, criminal way.

As a moderate, I believe that a democracy in the middle east will lead to the eventual disintegration and downfall of the extremist Islamic fascists.

No one in the US is hung up on religion more than the liberal community - they're the ones who are always accusing the religious right of having all of these powers that the religious right just don't have.

Bush is no moderate, those surrounding and influencing him are not moderates either.

Polarisation is the name of the game.

This is why there is no real international support for US actions.
Where is everyone. huh?

Every cloud has a silver lining though.

Polarisation will keep all you neocon chickenhawks busy for a few decades.

eek,

Based on bblight's criteria for naming Bush a moderate, I would say that that is an accurate statement for this country. People from all sides of the political spectrum have varying degrees for offensive behavior. I don't believe that it's divided by political affiliation.

If you go by the name...PAT PATRIOT-mocked by liberals and to "hippy" for conservatives.

The one thing libs always do,is innoculate themselves in their twisted logic by sayin they are "open minded."Therefore they no better and everyone that does not drink that kool aid is a dumb right winger.

bblight....when you say that a democracy in the middle east will lead to the eventual disintregration and downfall of the extremist Islamic fascists......

How the hell is a democracy ever going to succeed when that area is so steeped in religious traditions and policies that give slaves more rights than women?

Work the way it does in Israel, with a car bomb every day and two or three on the weekends?

There is a better chance of converting every right handed person to being left handed before a democracy is accepted in the middle east. You're talking about centuries and centuries of established culture, traditions, and practice.

And before I forget, religion.

He must be kidding with the Prescription bill, what a nice worthless giveaway to insurance companies. I mean that wasn't conservative or liberal, just plain stupid.

WildBill - you're making a typical extremist statement about the prescription bill.

Like the Defense of Marriage act and Welfare reform under Clinton - which wouldn't have had a chance of passage if Clinton was a Republican, the Prescription Bill did pass because a Republican President introduced it.

It gives prescription help to the most needy. This is help that they would not have had otherwise.

You can badmouth this bill all you want, but no one could have done better.

Uh, you could have just not passed one and done better. It was a sap, a total giveaway to the drug companies. Blocked reimportation, forced people to go on plans that profit the insurance and drug companies, and of course as we all have heard now its cost was purposefully understated. Yeah, that is a real quality bill to hang your hat on.

I have no doubt that Bush is having an affair with someone high up in the pharmaceutical industry. Either that, or someone's got some serious dirt on the guy.

Wouldn't NAFTA have some kind of jurisdiction in the reimportation debate?

No sir, a lot of times nothing is better than something bad. Make that almost always nothing is better. Many of us didn't mind the years of gridlock in the 90s. Far better option is doing nothing than passing bad policy. In so many ways this why I and many people will gladly vote for a guy we really don't care that much about to be President. Shut down this gravy train of spending and rule making that the Republicans are shoving down our throats. If proposed policy isn't good enough to pass under bi-partisan conditions, then it should be relegated to the "dead" pile where it belongs.

WildBill - you're wrong!

I have several retired friends on fixed incomes who are very happy that they have the precription bill - one of them cut her prescription bill by nearly two thirds for several inhalers she uses via the new health card she got through the program.

My way or the highway doesn't work for everyone - especially those at the bottom of the income ladder. Maybe you can afford to wait, but there are a lot of people out there who are benefiting from this program right now.

Geez, how many full term babies died because gridlock wouldn't allow a ban on partial birth abortions.

You love that full-term baby lie don't you? You still didn't answer to the fact that an abortion on a "full-term" baby in most states would require a court order because most states consider babies at that stage to be viable and therefore have the rights of a living person. If you don't believe me, ask yourself why a "liberal haven" like California has charged Scott Peterson with double murder?
